Our Pop-Up will feature a large collection of original art by Victor Ing. Ing was a native of Canton, China who emigrated to the US as a child. His professional art career spanned more than 40 years. His award-winning paintings show a strong Asian influence, with a Western concept of pattern and design. A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Victor was elected to the American Watercolor Society in 1968. He exhibited his work at art fairs in Chicago and throughout the midwest.
Painting served as Victor Ing’s lifeline for many years as he struggled to cope with the gradually debilitating effects of Parkinson’s disease. He first experienced symptoms in 1961, and some 36 years later, passed away in 1997 at the age of 73. He continued to paint until a few months before his passing.
The Victor Ing art at our Pop-Up comes from Victor’s estate. The pieces are all original watercolors or acrylics, painted between 1960 and 1997.
